Privacy Policy
Our commitment to you
JAPP Calisthenics is an app that helps you reach your fitness goals using calisthenics. It offers a variety of features so you can train effectively and safely, regardless of your experience level.
JAPP Calisthenics does not record or store any personal information or user-identifying information beyond the username and the photographs the user may upload to the platform. We work hard at all times to keep your information safe and private.
Welcome to the JAPP Calisthenics Privacy Policy. Thank you for taking the time to read it. We appreciate you trusting us with your information and we intend to always keep that trust.
To do that, we want to make sure you understand the information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your information. This policy describes our privacy practices in plain language, keeping legal and technical jargon to a minimum.
1. Where this Privacy Policy applies
This Privacy Policy applies to JAPP Calisthenics websites and applications.
2. Information we collect
When you create an account, you provide access to the following information:
- Username
- Profile photo
When you use the app, the following information is recorded:
- Workouts you perform and their results.
- Photos you may attach to those workouts.
To add certain content, such as photos or videos, you may allow us to access your camera or photo album. Some of the information you choose to provide may be considered “special” or “sensitive” in certain jurisdictions, for example, your racial or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, and religious beliefs. By choosing to provide such information, you agree that we may store it and display that image to other users.
When you subscribe through a platform such as iOS or Android, we do not collect the associated payment details.
3. Cookies and similar data collection technologies
JAPP Calisthenics apps do not use cookies directly, nor any other type of browsing data collection. Service providers (for example, Google LLC) may do so; see their privacy policy here: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
4. How we use information
The main reason we use your information is to provide our services. We also use your information to help keep you safe.
Specifically, we use it to:
- Administer your account and provide our services
- Create and manage your account
- Complete your transactions
- Communicate with you about subscription management
- Show users’ completed workouts to one another
- Schedule weekly workouts adapted to your level
- Communicate with you by email
- Improve our services and develop new ones
5. How we share information
Since our goal is to create a motivational environment for sports practice, the main way we share information is through the publication of completed workouts and their results — shared, of course, only with other users.
We also share information with certain service providers that help us operate the services, such as Google LLC, since we use their Cloud platform to host data. See their privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
With other users
You share workouts with other users. Please be careful with the photos you attach to workouts and make sure the content you share is something you are comfortable having visible to other users of the app, since neither you nor we can control what others do with your information once you share it.
With our service providers and partners
We rely on third parties to help us operate and improve our services. These third parties help us with tasks such as data hosting and maintenance, analytics, customer support, marketing, advertising, payment processing, and security operations.
We follow a strict vetting process before hiring any service provider or working with any partner. All our service providers and partners must agree to strict confidentiality obligations.
JAPP Calisthenics uses the following service providers:
- Google LLC (for storage of published information)
- Glassfy (for subscription management)
- Apple Store (for publishing the app)
- Google Play (for publishing the app)
For corporate transactions
We may transfer your information if we are involved, in whole or in part, in a merger, sale, acquisition, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, bankruptcy, or other change of ownership or control.
When required by law
We may disclose your information if it is reasonably necessary: (i) to comply with a legal process such as a court order, subpoena, or search warrant, a government/law enforcement investigation, or other legal requirements; (ii) to assist in the prevention or detection of crime (subject in each case to applicable law); or (iii) to protect the safety of any person.
To enforce legal rights
We may also share information:
- If disclosure mitigates our liability in an actual or threatened lawsuit;
- As necessary to protect our legal rights and the legal rights of our users, business partners, or other stakeholders;
- To enforce our agreements with you;
- To investigate, prevent, or take other action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, or other wrongdoing.
We may use non-personal information (i.e., information that by itself does not identify you, such as device information and general behavioral data), as well as personal information in encoded, non-human-readable form, in any of the circumstances above.
We may combine this information with additional non-personal information or with personal information in encoded, non-human-readable form collected from other sources.
6. Your rights
We want you to be in control of your information, so we provide the following tools:
Access/update tools within the service
Account tools and settings that help you access, correct, or delete the information you have provided and that is associated with your account directly within the service.
Device permissions
Mobile platforms have permission systems for specific types of device data and notifications, such as the phone book and location services, as well as push notifications. You can change your device settings to consent to or object to the collection of the corresponding information or the display of the corresponding notifications. Of course, if you do so, some services may lose full functionality.
Deletion
You can delete your account using the corresponding functionality directly in the service.
We want you to be aware of your privacy rights. Below are some key points to remember:
Reviewing your information. Applicable privacy laws may grant you the right to review the personal information we hold about you.
You can request a copy of your personal information by contacting us at info@japp-calisthenics.com.
Updating your information. If you believe the information we have about you is inaccurate, or that we no longer have the right to use it and you want to request correction or deletion, or object to its processing, contact us at info@japp-calisthenics.com.
For your protection and the protection of all our users, we may ask for proof of identity before we can respond to the requests above.
Please note that we may reject requests for certain reasons, including if the request is unlawful or if it could infringe trade secrets or intellectual property or another user’s privacy.
Likewise, we may not be able to honor certain objections to the processing of personal information, especially when such requests would prevent us from continuing to provide our service. For example, we cannot provide our service if we do not have your email address.
Uninstalling. You can stop information collection by an app by uninstalling it through your device’s standard uninstall process. If you uninstall the app from your mobile device, the unique identifier associated with your device will remain stored.
Accountability. In certain countries, including those in the European Union, you have the right to file a complaint with the relevant data protection authority if you are concerned about how we process your personal information.
7. How we protect your information
We strive to protect you from unauthorized access to, or alteration, disclosure, or destruction of, your personal information. Like all technology companies, while we take measures to secure your information, we do not promise — and you should not expect — that your personal information will always remain secure.
We regularly monitor our systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks, and we periodically review our data collection, storage, and processing practices to update our physical, technical, and organizational security measures, but we cannot guarantee the lawful behavior of other users.
We may suspend your use of all or part of the services without notice if we suspect or detect any security breach. If you believe your account or information is no longer secure, notify us immediately at info@japp-calisthenics.com.
8. How long we retain your information
We keep your information only as long as we need it for legitimate business purposes and as permitted by applicable law. To protect the safety of our users inside and outside our services, information is deleted immediately after account deletion.
In practice, we delete your information when you delete your account unless we must keep it to comply with applicable law; we must keep it to demonstrate our compliance with applicable law; there is an issue, claim, or pending dispute that requires us to retain the relevant information until it is resolved; or the information must be retained for our legitimate business interests, such as fraud prevention and improving user safety.
For example, it may be necessary to retain information to prevent a user who was removed for unsafe behavior or security incidents from opening a new account.
Please note that while our systems are designed to carry out data deletion processes according to the guidelines above, we cannot promise that all data will be deleted within a specific timeframe due to technical limitations.
9. Changes to this Privacy Policy
Because we are always looking for new and innovative ways to help you build meaningful connections, this policy may change over time. We will notify you before any material changes take effect so you have time to review them.
10. How to contact us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, you can contact us at info@japp-calisthenics.com.
